How to be Successful
So you want to learn how to be successful, to succeed in life, and find the key to success to unlock the door of untold wealth and happiness.
Settled down, cowboy I’m not a magic genie.
I can however get you started and hopefully in the right direction. Okay, so first and foremost you need to ask yourself what constitutes success in your eyes. And remember success is what makes your life happier and more fulfilling. It’s not just money, expensive houses and luxury cars. Although having those things sure beats the hell out of driving some rust bucket and living in some run down trailer park.
So what does constitute success? The most important ingredient is having full control of your life. Meaning you don’t rely on someone else’s money to support yourself. Many successful people shudder at the thought of some so-called boss having the power to decide when they get up, where they go each day, what time they eat lunch, what days they can take off, how much money they make, etc.
Or maybe not.
I say this because for 25 years I had bosses and did what they told me to do. This isn’t a bad thing because it made it possible for me to have the life that made me happy. I had a wonderful wife, two terrific kids who grew up to be happy, successful professional women, own a home in one of the most beautiful and crime free areas of the country, own and drive late model cars, go on vacations and spend time with friends.
Then it all came to an end.
I was downsized during the Great Recession, discovered that nobody was hiring and those who were weren’t paying enough money to live on.
And that’s when I realized that the game had changed.
When I was growing up I was constantly told that I needed a good education to get a good job. Not once, not EVER was I told that if I learned how to make money, I wouldn’t need to “get a good job.”
You can bet old Joe Kennedy never told his boys that they needed to get a good education so they could get a good job, No, he told them to get a good education so they could make contacts with other wealthy and powerful people so they too could gain power and change the rules to benefit them.
That my friend is how the game is played now.
They just don’t want you to know that. They want you to keep believing that the ONLY way to make real money is to get a good education so you can get a good job. In my last blog I showed you the Yahoo finance article listing the jobs that were disappearing.
Did you notice that they didn’t list the jobs that the new technology was creating?
Successful entrepreneurs like myself saw the writing on the wall and started our own companies. I read everything I could get my hands on to increase my knowledge on how to make money, how to start an online business, how to master affiliate marketing.
Want to know how to succeed in life? Simple. Don’t put yourself in a position where someone else can control your actions, and can control your income.
I’m not saying quit your job. I’m just saying you need to find ways to continue having an income should you lose your job.
I’m doing it and you can too. It really isn’t that hard. But remember, those who make great sums of money aren’t looking for competition which is why new entrepreneurs are often sent on a wild goose chase.
